- - FSC® Certified
- - Versatile - can be used on residential or commercial projects of any scale
- - Excellent thermal insulation qualities
- - Low maintenance
Eastern White Cedar is a very durable species that requires little maintenance. It contains natural preservatives that protect is from decay. Eastern White Cedar does not contain tannins, so it can be easily stained any colour and will not be affected by tannin bleed.
Stunning effects can be achieved by using Eastern White Cedar shingles as a primary cladding material or as infill panels in combination with other materials. They have been successfully installed on both traditional and contemporary residential and commercial buildings. In certain applications Eastern White Cedar shingles can even prove effective as an interior wall surface.
Thermal Insulation Qualities
Eastern White Cedar has a unique cell structure that traps tiny pockets of air to boost insulation and reduce a building's heating costs.
Easy to Work With
Eastern White Cedar can be easily worked by hand or with power tools. It also has exceptional dimensional stability so it lays flat, stays straight and retains fasteners. Eastern White Cedar has an even grain, fine texture and low density.
Manufacturing
Silva Timber is the UK distributor for Maibec®, North America's largest producer of Eastern White Cedar shingles.
