Durawood® 'E Supreme' grade is kiln dried then pressure treated and wax impregnated, it is then re-dried after treatment to ensure dimensional stability and minimal shrinkage after installation. Durawood® 'E Supreme' grade is also planed a second time on the best face and two edges to give it a consistent high quality finish.

Southern Yellow Pine reacts exceptionally well to being pressure treated. The unique cellular structure of Southern Yellow Pine permits deep, uniform penetration of wood preservatives, unlike many other timbers that only allow limited penetration of the preservative. This makes treating the exposed ends of sawn timber unnecessary and gives the timber a long service life, even in the British climate.
