Delivery Information

When you place an order with Silva Timber we ensure a smooth and timely delivery. Your goods will receive the proper care and attention from the time they are picked and packed in our warehouse to when they arrive at your door.

We operate a fast and efficient delivery service throughout the UK. Due to the nature of our products we use different delivery methods for the different types of products we sell, which range from a pack of nails to a pack of timber.

What time will it get here?

We appreciate that you may be taking time off work so we suggest that you request a call either on the morning of the agreed delivery date or one hour before delivery - whatever suits. Just enter your request in the 'Special Instructions' box on the order page.

Restrictions

Please let us know in advance if there are any access restrictions; for example narrow streets, parking restrictions, narrow farm tracks etc.

When your delivery arrives

To keep delivery charges to a minimum, goods are manually offloaded from the delivery vehicle. Someone must be on-site to sign for the delivery who is able to assist with the offload. If your order contains large lengths of timber you may need additional people on hand to help. As with most companies delivering building materials, delivery obligation ends at the curbside.

Delivery Costs

As well as running two of our own trucks, we work with three different couriers (for parcels) and two different nationwide pallet services (for timber). By having this flexibility we are able to select the cheapest delivery method for the particular part of the country we are delivering to. This enables us to keep our delivery charges as low as possible. If you would prefer to arrange your own haulage or collect yourself we can have your order picked and packed in advance - and we'll load it for you of course.

Collection from Widnes or Harmondsworth
We offer a collection service for customers in the area who would prefer to pick up their order from either our Widnes (Cheshire) or Harmondsworth

(W.London) branch.

As orders may need to be processed, picked and packed from multiple locations we are unfortunately unable to offer a 'Click & Collect' service.

Customers will be contacted to arrange a convenient date and time for collection.

Do you offer Next Day Delivery?

Next working day delivery is available on smaller courier items for UK mainland customers ordering before 11am, Monday to Friday. Next Day Delivery orders placed on weekends will be despatched on Monday for delivery Tuesday. Click here for more information.

How soon will I receive my order?

For smaller items such as screws, nails, wood care products and shingles that are in stock, we aim to have your order with you within a few working days, with a next day delivery service available to most UK regions.

Due to the nature of our larger items, such as deck boards, cladding, fencing and trellis, our picking and delivery times can vary. Once your order is placed a member of our sales team will contact you to arrange a suitable and prompt date of delivery.

What if I live outside the UK mainland?

We can arrange delivery for timber pretty much anywhere but you will need to contact us first to obtain a quote. We have successfully delivered to the Orkney Islands, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Jersey, Guernsey, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, France, Spain (mainland), Majorca, Malta, Italy, Portugal and Gibraltar. Please note we are unable to ship woodcare products to addresses outside of the UK.

What if it goes wrong?

We have been shipping specialty timber products around the UK for over twelve years and we have got it down to a fine art. Firstly, we source the very best products available - after all, we want you to be satisfied with your purchase so you buy from us again and tell others about us. Secondly, we carefully check that everything that goes out is on-grade and free from damage. Thirdly, we make sure that everything that goes out is packed well - we want it to arrive in the same condition that it leaves. Lastly, we select our delivery partners carefully - we only work with companies that handle our products correctly and offer the same level of customer service as we do. We are very proud of the fact that almost 100% of our deliveries arrive on time regardless of their destination and size.
