When picking our regular orders, Silva Timber’s operations team will handpick timber to remove boards that may contain some natural defects or marks from the manufacturing process to ensure only the finest boards leave our warehouse. Naturally this means we are left with a quantity of boards that do not meet our standards due to various factors, for example: 

• Excessive natural characteristics not grade-representative
• Weathered/discoloured boards
• Forklift & handling damage
• Milling & manufacture marks
• Split ends
• Warping

As our quality control standards are set so high, the majority of our pull-out boards are still perfectly usable, however some may require attention such as cutting out sections, sanding boards or a wood cleaner and finish applying, resulting in a beautiful deck using simple tools. Of course, the possible extra work required is reflected in the low price, with boards discounted up to 60%.
