For ultimate corrosion resistance stainless steel ring nails are recommended for the application of cedar shingles, shakes and cladding.

Each nail is manufactured in accordance with BS1202 utilising high quality stainless steel wire and are classed as 304 Grade Stainless Steel.

We highly recommend to always use stainless steel nails when working with Western Red Cedar, Siberian Larch and similar wood species that contain a high tannin content. This will prevent woodstaining.

  • 1557 nails per Kilo (31mm Ring Shank)
  • 550 nails per Kilo (40mm Flat Head Ring Shank)
  • 571 nails per Kilo (40mm Lost Head Ring Shank)
  • 476 nails per Kilo (40mm Lost Head Ring Shank - 316 Grade)
  • 434 nails per Kilo (50mm Ring Shank)
  • 344 nails per Kilo (50mm Lost Head Ring Shank)
  • 251 nails per Kilo (75mm Lost Head Ring Shank)
  • 1 kilo of 31 Ring Shank nails will be required to fix 4 bundles of shingles
  • 1 kilo of 50 Ring Shank nails will be required to fix 4 bundles of shake
  • 1 Bundle of pre-formed hip and ridge caps requires 72 Nails

316 Grade Stainless Steel

We always recommend to always use stainless steel nails when working with Western Red Cedar, Siberian Larch and similar wood species that contain a high tannin content. This will prevent woodstaining.

For the ultimate corrosion resistance, we also supply 316 Grade Stainless Steel Nails. Type 316 stainless is a marine grade alloy, frequently used on the exterior of the world's tallest skyscrapers. It is highly resistant to acids and tannins naturally found in timber.

Each nail is manufactured in accordance with BS1202 utilising high quality stainless steel wire and are classed as 304 / 316 Grade Stainless Steel.
