Cascadia V-Joint Profile

Equally impressive when used indoors or on an external façade, our Cascadia V- joint profile Western Red Cedar cladding can be installed horizontally or vertically, and with no visible nails, you can create a contemporary look with ease.

The tongue and groove connection makes installing a breeze, while the simple bevel where the boards meet provides a subtle shadow line effect that will accentuate the height or width of a façade.

Made From the Highest Quality Wood Fibre

Produced by leading Canadian sawmill Terminal Forest Products - sustainably sourced from well managed forests - Cascadia cladding is made from the very best in tight knot grade Western Red Cedar, grown in the British Columbia coastal region. Silva Timber is the exclusive UK stockist of Cascadia.

Kiln Dried for a Uniform Moisture Content

Cascadia Western Red Cedar is kiln dried to a moisture content of 12-15% (+/-2%). Kiln drying is preferable to air drying as it enables the boards to dry evenly for better dimensional stability, and makes them suitable for coating immediately. This also means the boards can be installed with minimal site acclimatisation. Find out more about the kiln drying process.

Transform any Indoor Space

With its rich colour and texture, Cascadia cladding, makes any indoor space feel warm all year round.

Finishing & Protection

It is recommended that a finish is applied to all surfaces, including ends, before installation. The type of coating will be determined by the final finish and appearance desired.

Why factory coat?

  • Enhances the natural beauty of wood
  • Ensures a consistent finish
  • Applied in factory conditions
  • Long lasting protection against weathering
  • Simple maintenance routine
  • Reduces onsite labour costs

Sansin Enviro Stains

Easy to apply and maintain, Sansin Enviro-stains deliver outstanding performance. Sansin's range of wood protection products are available in 80 colour tones

What is weathering?

There is a risk involved when leaving wood exposed to the elements. During the weathering process wood can appear unsightly as the material can blacken due to moisture getting into the fibres and pulling out tannins and extractives. Finish protects the wood from moisture absorption and UV degradation.

Grading

Grades

This grade accounts for approximately 90% of Western Red Cedar production and can be seen in use across North America on every type of building from lakeside cabins to upmarket ski lodges, architect designed contemporary city homes and commercial buildings.

Select Tight Knot:

This grade provides an economical solution for those who want to see more character in their wood. Live knots (infused with surrounding wood fibre) which are limited in size and number are allowed within the grading rules.
