What is Fraké?
Fraké is the name for a thermally modified hardwood called Limba. A natural heat treatment process that uses only heat and steam (no chemical additives) significantly improves this non-durable timber species' performance.
Why choose Fraké?
Combine the rich walnut/chocolate brown colour tones with a Class 1 durability and it's easy to see why Fraké is a highly popular cladding material.
The thermal modification process greatly improves the insulation value and makes this wood extremely stable.
Does Fraké cladding need protecting?
Although the lifespan of Fraké unprotected can reach up to 25 years in optimum environments, by applying a surface coating, you can achieve 60+ years if applied at the outset and maintained periodically.
Factory coating service
Fraké cladding from Silva can be supplied factory coated enabling it to be installed at any time of year regardless of the weather or temperature.
Is Fraké sustainably sourced?
The timber used to produce Fraké is sourced from well-managed and sustainable forests which have FSC/OLB certification.
Why choose Silva Timber?
Silva Timber stocks a range of Fraké cladding profiles. Wood has been carefully selected to ensure that it meets the highest standards of quality at the most competitive prices.
