Select Tight Knot Grade
Select Tight Knot is the highest standard of knotty cladding and trim available. This grade offers a distinctive, high quality knotty appearance. It has limited imperfections and restricts knots to sound and tight.
The grade is characterised by knots, grain patterns and other natural features combined with a palette of warm, mellow tones ranging from light amber to deep honey brown. Sound tight knots are live knots that are grown into the wood and are less likely to fall out than dead knots.
Silva sources its select tight knot grade Western Red Cedar boards from one of North America’s leading primary sawmills, with a reputation throughout the industry for producing superior quality Western Red Cedar products.

The STK grade allows burls and naturally occurring markings which are of fairly uniform distribution and add to the character of the product. Sound, live, small to medium tight knots (approximately the size of a 10p piece) are permitted every 150 - 200mm.
