Fraké Noir 2 Piece L-Shaped Corner Trim

£10.01 (inc VAT) £8.34 (ex VAT) per linear metre

The detailing of internal and external corners will have a strong visual impact on any cladding project. The corners should relate to other features, such as the detailing around window openings.

There are two ways to install the 2 piece l-shaped corner. It can be fitted on top of the cladding to cover the ends/edges or fitted flush with the face of the cladding to form a seamless run.

The 2 piece l-shaped corner detail is used when a larger, more defined corner is required. It can be used with both horizontal and vertical cladding.

Product Details

  • Sizes: Part A: 18 x 62mm / Part B: 18 x 44mm (to make 62 x 62mm capping).
  • Grade: Typically knot-free on the face. Mostly free of defects. Some pinhole present. Can exhibit variable grain giving some movement along the length.
  • Surface texture: Smooth.

Key Properties

  • Colour: A rich walnut/chocolate brown colour consistent throughout the section of the piece.
  • Durability: Fraké Noir has a decay resistance of durability class 1 (very durable) according to the EN 113 standard. A service life of 25+ years can be achieved, or 60+ years if a surface coating is applied at the outset and maintained periodically.
  • Stability: The lower equilibrium moisture content and the changes in the chemical composition of the wood during the heat treatment process make Fraké Noir less able to absorb and release water, thereby improving dimensional stability. Tangential shrinkage ≤ 2%.
  • Density: The density of Fraké Noir is 540kg/m³.
  • Thermal properties: The thermo-modification process greatly improves the insulation value.
  • Grading: Fraké Noir is generally well presented. The material is mostly free of defects on the face, with some small crumbly knots on the reverse. It has a uniform colour with some black mineral staining/streaks if inspected at close quarters. Fraké Noir exhibits pinholes on some material, though this is not sufficient to detract from the overall appearance. The presence of variable grain gives some movement along the length, which is typical of any hardwood species.
  • Sourcing/certification: Limba is a so-called lesser-known timber species (LKTS) from Central Africa. FSC is promoting the use of LKTS from FSC certified forests to make forestry more sustainable in the long term. There is an abundant supply of raw material with Limba not listed in CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species). Limba used in Fraké Noir's production is sourced from FSC 100% origin with a reduced impact on logging areas, thereby giving the forest an enduring economic value to ensure it remains preserved and valued as a resource for local employment opportunities. One tree per hectare is logged on a 25-year cycle. Fraké Noir from Silva Timber is supplied with full FSC chain-of-custody certification.

Optional Extras

Coatings: The application of a coating is necessary to protect the wood and optimise its appearance over time. The coating should be applied to all surfaces, including ends, before installation. Choose from our wide range of high-performance wood coating systems.

Factory coating service: Fraké Noir Corner Trim can be supplied factory coated. Having the coating pre-applied on all sides enables it to be installed at any time of year, regardless of the weather or temperature. Please Contact Us for a quotation.
