Back in the late nineties, the idea of timber decking suddenly swept the nation with TV garden makeover shows such as Ground Force and Home Front in the Garden, fuelling the trend. It was during these heady days – in May 2000 - that Silva began life as a specialist supplier of Western Red Cedar decking.
From our humble beginnings over 20 years ago, Silva has developed a loyal following of landscape and garden design professionals and helped create some amazing outdoor spaces. We have provided materials for countless prestigious projects, including the Buckingham Palace Visitor Centre, The Natural History Museum, and award-winning show gardens at the Chelsea Flower Show. Silva has also supplied materials for episodes of the ITV show Love Your Garden and other lifestyle television programmes.
Today Western Red Cedar decking is still a firm favourite; however, our range of products and services has expanded considerably and now includes cladding, fence and screen components, shingles and shakes in a variety of wood species.
Long-standing relationships with some of the best sawmills in the industry have helped Silva become one of the largest importers of both Western Red Cedar and European Larch. We offer what is undoubtedly the broadest range of larch and cedar products in the country.
In addition to solid wood, Silva also stocks high-quality composite decking from EasyDeck®.
Since 2013 Silva has operated an in-house factory coating department, which now comprises of three specialist coating application machines. Our expertise in exterior wood and coatings has enabled us to become the go-to company for factory coated exterior wood.
Silva also stocks a range of exterior wood care products and ancillary items such as stainless-steel nails and screws, timber connectors, and much more.
If you are a landscaper or garden designer looking to offer your clients the very best in exterior wood solutions, then talk to the team at Silva today and see how we can help you turn your next project into something exceptional.
