Silva Timber Pauses Trade With Russia Following the Invasion of Ukraine

Silva has purchased Siberian Larch from a family-owned sawmill in Russia for several years. We have enjoyed a great partnership with our Russian colleagues during this time.

However, Russia’s military action in Ukraine has caused a fundamental change. As a result, we have decided to stop purchasing any wood that originates from Russia with immediate effect.

All our current stock of Siberian Larch was purchased and arrived in the UK before the invasion.  We will not be buying more for the foreseeable future. Silva has already committed to increased volumes of our other stocked species. Also, we are looking at alternative species to fill the gap.

Like everyone around the UK, the team here at Silva is united in our condemnation of Russia’s actions in Ukraine. Our thoughts are with the people affected by the conflict.
