Premium quality Western Red Cedar

Silva Select Western Red Cedar Boards

There are a huge range of end uses for our Silva Select Western Red Cedar boards.

Combine the different board widths to create board and batten (board-on-board) style cladding to add a sense of depth and texture to any façade. Boards can also be used for open jointed cladding, fascia, barge boards, door and window trim, corner trim, fences, horizontal slatted screens – almost anything imaginable.

The premium quality of the Western Red Cedar means that whatever their end use, you can’t fail to achieve a unique and modern look.

The Best Raw Materials From the Best Suppliers

Silva Select has a mark of quality that only comes from the world’s finest Western Red Cedar producers. It’s sourced from primary sawmills in the British Columbia coastal region, where the old-growth timber is rich in colour with tight growth rings and few knots. Combined with the fact that it’s graded three times at source, and once more here at Silva during the production process, it means you won’t find such high quality anywhere else.

Kiln Dried for Optimum Dimensional Stability

By kiln drying to a moisture content of 16-18% (+/-2%), Silva Select Western Red Cedar has been dried uniformly so that it’s dimensionally stable, and can be immediately coated and installed with minimal acclimatisation on site. Air drying doesn’t offer the even moisture removal that can be achieved with controlled drying. Get more information on kiln drying.
