These 18 x 86mm ‘A & Better Clear’ centre-matched cladding packs are of exceptional quality. They are produced from the very best fine-grained, old-growth Western Red Cedar, sourced from forests in the coastal regions of British Columbia, Canada. This highly desirable and much sought-after material is practically free of knots and virtually all heartwood.
Centre Match Western Red Cedar Cladding has no bevel or shadow recess, so it creates a totally flat surface with just a thin joint line where the boards meet.
We have sourced a limited number of 1.83m, 2.13m and 2.44m lengths that we are offering in job packs at a heavily reduced price. We anticipate that this material will move quickly, so snap it up before it goes!

This Western Red Cedar cladding is manufactured to the industry's highest production standard by Terminal Forest Products, a family-owned and operated company founded in 1962. Terminal has built an enviable reputation throughout the sawmill industry as a leader in quality and consistency.
Terminal's fastidious approach to quality control means that the production quality of this v-joint cladding is exceptional. The material far exceeds the NLGA grading standards for A & Better Clear.
Please note that we do not check each board in these packs. Though you will likely be able to use most, if not all, of the pieces in these packs, we are selling with the caveat that there may be occasional minor defects such as splits, handling marks, etc. We have factored the potential presence of defects into the price; therefore, we cannot exchange boards for any reason.
This product is available exclusively in the UK through Silva. It is sustainably sourced from well-managed forests and supplied with full PEFC chain of custody certification.
Boards are kiln dried to a moisture content of 12-15% (+/-2%). Among its many benefits over air drying, the kiln drying process enables the boards to dry uniformly to achieve optimum dimensional stability. It also allows the immediate application of coatings and minimises site acclimatisation.
The SAWTEX® surface texture provides a beautiful natural appearance that makes the wood grain more visible and exudes a feeling of warmth, adding an extra layer to its appeal.
If you intend to apply a coating, this fine sawn surface texture is perfect for absorbing a penetrating stain with no additional preparation. SAWTEX® enables the coating to penetrate deep into the wood, rather than it just sitting on the surface as it would with a smooth surface. The result is deeper, richer, and more consistent colour because more stain is in the wood, and the overall level of penetration is more even. Deeper penetration of the coating also ensures that the wood is better protected and requires less frequent maintenance.

The PEFC Council is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organisation founded in 1999 which promotes sustainably managed forests through independent third-party certification. The PEFC provides an assurance mechanism to purchasers of wood and paper products that they are promoting the sustainable management of forests.
PEFC works throughout the entire forest supply chain to promote good practice in the forest and to ensure that timber and non-timber forest products are produced with respect for the highest ecological, social and ethical standards. Thanks to its eco-label, customers and consumers are able to identify products from sustainably managed forests.
Silva Timber meets the requirements for PEFC Chain of Custody within the BM TRADA Certification Limited Scheme for TRADA - Trak chain of custody certification.

Western Red Cedar is the ultimate green building material. It is legally, responsibly and sustainably harvested in the publicly managed forests of British Columbia, Canada. Less than 1% of standing timber is harvested each year.
For each tree harvested, three are replanted to ensure the forests will exist in perpetuity. Western Red Cedar has a low impact on the environment throughout its life cycle. It requires significantly less energy to produce than man-made alternatives and is bio-degradable.
