This pack of Western Red Cedar Boards is perfect for board on board style cladding, planters, treehouses, fence boards etc. They could also be ripped into narrower pieces.

We have several similar packs available, which we are selling at heavily reduced prices to clear. The quality of the pieces within each pack varies, with the majority of boards being fully usable and others requiring some fettling (see description below). If you are a keen woodworker, you’ll easily be able to tidy up the less attractive boards and cut out damage from other boards to recover a lot of usable material.

Grade: Silva Select (No. 2 Clear & Better Vertical Grain).
M/C: Kiln Dried 12 – 15% (+/-2%).
Finished size: 20 x 144mm.
Profile: Board.
Lengths: 16/1.52m, 13/1.83m, 2/2.13m, 4/2.44m, 2/3.05m, 5/3.66m, 1/3.96m, 12/4.27m.
Unit of sale: Pack (141.73m).

Suggested uses: Internal / external cladding.

Quality Description

This pack consists of boards we’ve pulled-out and trimmed down during the order picking process because they do not meet our in-house grading standard.

The severity of the defects varies from minor damage, marks, knot holes, pinhole, staining, longer splits, uneven edges and damaged sections that will require trimming or planing out.

N.B. Boards are graded on one face only. These are not reversible boards.

Tips

Sand out any marks / stains with a random orbital sander using 60 / 80 grit sanding discs.
Trim out larger defects using a crosscut saw.
Optimise material by planning the positioning of boards and any cuts to be made beforehand.
Use the least attractive pieces in less visible areas, e.g., round the back of a building.
Use an exterior wood filler in knotholes.
Apply a coating such as Sansin SDF. Opaque colours will obscure most defects.
