What to expect from timber products
The attraction of using timber as a building material lies in every piece being unique with variation in colour, grain pattern and character from piece to piece. These natural characteristics combine to create stunning interior and exterior surfaces that are timeless and can endure for generations.
When choosing a natural building material, consideration should be given that it may require further processing on site for it to achieve its full potential. You will find more detailed information about installing, preparing and finishing your timber cladding elsewhere on our website.
When working with timber it should be expected that although ‘on-grade’, occasional boards may have minor imperfections that will require ‘working’ if you wish to eliminate. Examples include raised grain, small splits, minor handling marks, sticker marks etc – all of which can easily be remedied by trimming, gluing or sanding. In most cases imperfections can be removed with very little effort, and the small amount of off cuts generated as a result will be absorbed in the normal cutting and selection allowance.
Be assured that our products are of the highest standard in the industry - we handle, visibly inspect and pack your order with great care to ensure what you receive is on grade and in excellent condition when it arrives. It is however impossible to remove every board with a minor imperfection – it would be wasteful and would add considerably to the price of the product.
Please remember that occasional boards with minor imperfections are to be expected and that this is factored into the price of the product, as is standard within the industry.
